Freelance Work?!

Tue Jun 26, 2007, 7:07 AM
Nowadays a day won't pass without a journal entry made in dA stating that there is an other freelance designer about to start work. At the moment there has to be thousands out there making designs and getting paid for it.

This brings me to a hard question, should I start making designs for money? I have always thought about designing, especially web design, unfortunately it has always got stuck when it comes to coding so my plans have been ruined.

Anyway, as a conclusion I would like to know from you, readers of this journal, would you be interested in seeing me in the work field?

Thank you for your time and attention,
Henri Normak

You may as well go for it mate.
I'm not a coder, but I've still done web template work, as well as logos and cd/vinyl covers.
Set yourself up a paypal account, and get your portfolio up. Maybe look in other design forums for requests and even go to older websites and tell them about yourself, show them your portfolio and ask them if they would like a new design made for a small 'knockdown' fee.
Good luck. ;)

You can always make the designs then find a coder to do the codes for it. Costs money, makes money. All depends on how you work everything out. But at 16 you'd be better off with a part time job :P

It's important to learn the basics, before you can master complexity.

Yeah, I have done some part time jobs in the recent summers, but this time I was thinking about trying web business, we'll see.

Ya I agree with Sam..
Just test it out and see what happens..
I would do exactly what Sam said and get into the business and start showing your stuff off!
I know if I were I were looking for something done, I would come to you!
If you do need a coder though, I am one myself and I have good contacts, so keep that in mind and don't let that keep you back.

Good luck and I hope the best for you.
